In September, I was honored to welcome Governor Phil Scott and Housing & Community Development Commissioner Josh Hanford to Village Center Apartments' site where they announced Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) recipients. Village Center Apartments was one of 25 community development projects statewide that was awarded CDBG funding for it's role in accelerating Vermont's pandemic recovery.
The $550,000 project based grant was made possible through collaboration with the Town of Morrisville and the Morrisville Selectboard, who applied for the grant on our behalf. This funding grant came at no expense to the Town, provides funding critical to increasing affordable housing options in our communities, further preserves affordability of the apartments for all who will make their homes there, and contributes to downtown Morrisville's economic vibrancy.
